Definition of the "Science Fiction Genre": The focus of this subgenre of fiction is science and technology, especially as they will possibly exist in a future time. Some of the typical aspects of a Science Fiction ebook are time travel, future worlds with technology that may not even be contemplated at this point, aliens and other life forms, and travelling in space. What separates the Science Fiction subgenre from the Fantasy subgenre of fiction is that the imagined or invented elements of a Science Fiction novel typically have more of a probability of existing. They are based upon scientific principles, not principles of magic.
Some examples of bestselling ebooks in the Science Fiction genre are Frank Herbert (Dune), Isaac Asimov (Foundation), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game) and George Orwell (1984).

Twenty-year-old Ethan Jones lives in a post-apocalyptic, oppressive society that terminates anyone with mutations caused by nuclear radiation in an effort to keep the human race pure. Because of that, he lives every day in fear for his life, for he has an incredible mutation that gives him an edge when foraging in Melbourne’s ruins. An edge he uses to survive encounters with the vile Skel savages who roam those ruins.
His life becomes complicated when he rescues a mysterious Japanese girl from the Skel and brings her back with him, for she breaks the town’s rigid conventions in her pursuit of him, placing their lives in jeopardy. Her odd behaviour and probing questions baffle him, as does the fact that he understands her when she speaks in Japanese.
At the same time, the Skel ramp up their attacks on the foraging teams. Is this part of a larger plan that could spell the town’s doom? And why do the Skel suddenly possess advanced technology – who is backing them, and why?
Keeping his mutation secret, uncovering the girl’s true intentions and trying to save the town all vie for Ethan’s attention. And if he fails, not only his life, but the lives of all, are at stake.

Fountain of Youth, or Valley of Death?
While eating his supper of microwave popcorn, PhD student-genius Salinger Jacobs is grabbed from his apartment in California, stuck on a C-130 military plane and sent to the Sahara Desert to witness the reality of the ZOO for himself.
With the life expectancy of untrained scientists working inside the ZOO measured in hours, he has a lot to learn.
Fast.
First order of business?
How do you shoot a gun, and just HOW MUCH is that plant worth?
The government needs the best of the best military and scientific minds working out how to pull the secrets from the ZOO, while keeping the deadly fauna and flora in check.
There is one major problem, Salinger doesn't even have a PhD.
If he can stay alive long enough, he might be able to afford something besides packaged microwave popcorn to eat.
THAT IS A BIG IF.
This Boxed Set includes the first four books in the BIRTH OF HEAVY METAL Series

Blood of My Enemies
NOTE: There may or may not be gratuitous sex in these books. Or it might actually play into a later book with funny talk about men's vs. women's abilities and capabilities. There is ABSOLUTELY cursing in this book. LOTS of upset cursing, cursing out of anger, fear, and other emotional issues related to carnivorous alien flora or fauna eating humans who don’t say ‘darn.’ LOTS of gratuitous cursing just because the author finds it funny, too. There is death and sadness...and more death. In fact, it’s a blender of blood out in the ZOO. Man vs. Alien nature seems to justify ugly results. Plus, people have emotional hangups. Expect to smile, laugh, cry, and perhaps have a spate of jealousy or two. Further, there might be explicit sex, thank you sex, and you're welcome sex. Finally, there is no Coke in the ZOO. That is probably the worst and most offensive trait in these stories. This is Michael Todd, and I approve of the shenanigans pulled in ZOO stories.
Find the compass, save the world or save herself?

Simple? It’s a lot harder than it sounds. And there’s that fourth date…
NOTE: Formerly titled: The Peabrain's Idea (Okay, only I liked the title...)
Dmitry is Estonian. He lives in Los Gatos; his girlfriend is a stripper; he works for Eastern European mobsters... and he's having an existential crisis of epic proportions.
In 2017, scientists began using the simulated world of Grand Theft Auto to test self-driving cars.
25 years later, in 2042, they're using the latest popular video game, 'Outlaw', and it's Los Angeles-like world of 'Los Gatos' to test the latest form of A.I., intended for military applications and a dumbed down version for hospitality.
The 'Outlaw' experiment, as it comes to be known, is practically an afterthought, intended as a safe way to catch "thought anomalies", cognitive failures, and general threats to human life prior to real world testing.
But soon, Dmitry, the Estonian career criminal and in-game character given A.I. capabilities, begins to slowly realize something is off about his environment. A bottle of water sits upon a table in a way that's contrary to physics. An electrical tower on the edge of the desert where his mother lives seems to have moved fifty yards for no apparent reason. Doors that are impossible to open. The strange behavior of 'people' around him; always ready for a fight over the dumbest of infractions.
All of these add up to one seriously flawed simulated world that Dmitry attempts to navigate while also dealing with his drug addicted crime boss; an increasingly brutal underworld made worse by the new Russian chess master and crime lord Nicolai; a mother recently diagnosed with cancer who needs money for treatments; and finally, a growing sense of empathy for the plight of innocents in the world of Los Gatos combined with distrust towards the very 'reality' that surrounds him.

Co-Op - Book 2
Who is he going to work with, and will that partner be able to handle him... Including his (shall we say) slightly inflated ego of himself?
Even if that ego is deserved, just a little?
Chief is learning to be a little more supportive, except when Chief of Security Wulfson decides a few students deserve a little more intense training.
With all of the additional injuries Kaiden suffers in his extra-curricular training, will he succumb to the blue goop pain killer?
In CO-OP Kaiden has to figure out how best to work with a partner, someone who is as good in their profession as he is in his.
Death Match - Book 3
And then open it up for player-vs-player action where even your partners can gain skill points for stabbing you in the back?
It is time for Kaiden to grow up a little and play with a larger team to accomplish a three-peat. The only problem?
The test has been engineered to kill the players.
What's a little blood between friends?
In Deathmatch, Kaiden has to figure out how best to work with multiple team members.
Advance - Book 4
He has been working odd jobs since the first school year ended.
(People have to eat, right?)
The problem? He isn't as prepared as he thinks he is.
Out in the jungles of the Amazon, Kaiden meets a new set of nightmares, and death there is permanent.
Even with all his previous training in the Animus, will Kaiden survive?
___
You don't become the best of the best by staying alive. In the Animus, you are closer to perfection with each death you suffer.

Old maids! Murder! Masked Beast Lords!
Lady Isabella Farrah didn’t expect a proposal from a masked man at the Annual Ambassadorial Ball—nor did she expect a murder.
She got both.
Happily for society at large, Isabella is of the opinion that noses were made for sticking into other peoples’ business, and she is delighted to do just that in the service of the murdered man—and perhaps in service of a certain Beast Lord, who is not as grateful as Isabella thinks he ought to be.
Now it’s just a matter of finding a murderer in a society of malcontents, traitors, and bad dancers.
It’s a game of masks, and the Beast Lord isn’t the only person hiding behind one…
War is looming and Captain Jack Klingerman answers the call.
Teamed up with Ally, a human consciousness in a concierge bot-body, he heads out to New Atlantia in the Federation's boondocks where he finds two sides ready to blow each other off the face of the planet.
Standing in the way of a peaceful resolution is a little matter of a kidnapped scientist and a stolen zero-point energy generator: a piece of tech which, in the wrong hands, is capable of ripping a hole in the universe.
Jack's only chance at saving the entire space-time continuum as we know it is to unravel a sinister plot, track the kidnappers, and take down an endless stream of covert delta forces and black ops teams as he planet-hops in pursuit of the device.
All of which is making it harder to maintain a cease-fire back at New Atlantia.
He's going to have to pull out the stops to save the peace, the Federation, and a healthy chunk of the universe.
