Are you looking for explosions, high-speed chases, rappelling down the sides of buildings, and generally everything that Tom Cruise does on a daily basis? Then we're sure you're dying to get your hands on free and discounted ebooks in the Action and Adventure genre. You've come to the right place. All of our Action and Adventure authors that promote their ebooks want you to get their ebooks at the lowest price possible. Always free or discounted!
Definition of "Action and Adventure Genre": You may ask yourself, how does an Action and Adventure ebook differ from a Thriller ebook? Fair question. They may seem similar, but the main aspect of an Action and Adventure ebook is the element of consistent physical danger as a main part of the storyline. So, while our reference to Tom Cruise and, for instance, his Mission Impossible series was slightly tongue-in-cheek, those stories would actually fall into the Action and Adventure genre. Another important aspect of the Action and Adventure genre is that the pace of the novel using action is actually just as important as character building and setting--which makes the genre differ from others in a significant fashion.
Some examples of Action and Adventure bestselling ebooks are James Patterson (most of his Alex Cross novels), Pierce Brown (Red Rising), Tom Clancy (most of his Jack Ryan novels), and A.G. Riddle (The Atlantis Gene).
A dystopian thriller follows a boy and girl on the run from a town where all thoughts can be heard – and the passage to manhood embodies a horrible secret.
Todd Hewitt is the only boy in a town of men. Ever since the settlers were infected with the Noise germ, Todd can hear everything the men think, and they hear everything he thinks. Todd is just a month away from becoming a man, but in the midst of the cacophony, he knows that the town is hiding something from him -- something so awful Todd is forced to flee with only his dog, whose simple, loyal voice he hears too. With hostile men from the town in pursuit, the two stumble upon a strange and eerily silent creature: a girl. Who is she? Why wasn't she killed by the germ like all the females on New World? Propelled by Todd's gritty narration, readers are in for a white-knuckle journey in which a boy on the cusp of manhood must unlearn everything he knows in order to figure out who he truly is.
The sequel to the award-winning novel The Secret Billionaire.
Andrew Day looks like any other student. At the Saint Clemens boarding school, nobody knows—not even his two best friends Cameron and Olivia—that Andrew is one of the wealthiest people in the world. No one knows that he has inherited the fortune of Lyndon Surway, the legendary tycoon, who disappeared decades ago and was never found. Nobody suspects that Andrew is the new master of the Surway House, which lay uninhabited through the years.
But as life returns to the stairways and ballrooms of the magnificent home, as Andrew ventures through forgotten passages and unmapped doors, strange things start to happen, almost as if someone were watching him, as if someone had expected him. And as he learns more about the people he loves, as he journeys into dark places where no one goes, Andrew begins to wonder:
Who is hiding inside the walls?

Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline; and a simple harbor community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors.
Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl—but that’s just what happens with visitor Sadie Loman and Littleport resident Avery Greer. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable—until Sadie is found dead. While the police rule the death a suicide, Avery can’t help but feel there are those in the community, including a local detective and Sadie’s brother, Parker, who blame her. Someone knows more than they’re saying, and Avery is intent on clearing her name, before the facts get twisted against her.
Another thrilling novel from the bestselling author of All the Missing Girls and The Perfect Stranger, Megan Miranda’s The Last House Guest is a smart, twisty read with a strong female protagonist determined to make her own way in the world.

Retired Marine and survivalist Chuck, his brilliant and brave wife, Madison, and their remarkable children are thrown from the modern world into a dystopian wasteland in the span of a few heartbeats. Now it’s up to Chuck to build a new life in a post-apocalyptic world that becomes more dangerous every day.
Join the Nagys as they do more than simply survive a devastating surprise attack: They thrive. They learn to protect themselves. They venture into the devastated city for essential supplies, and fight wolves, wildlife, and desperate humans. Ultimately they rally other survivors to build a new community. “This novel takes the reader on a journey of survival that is unique and compelling. It pulled me in and made me feel like I was right there with the main character, experiencing survival without the actual pain and frustration that comes with it. The first-person presentation is just right for a survival novel like this. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I believe you will too.” Amazon Five Star Review
Attorney, consultant, successful author and twenty-year Marine Corps veteran Craig Martelle has written a frighteningly realistic story that a five-star Amazon review called “unique and compelling.”
“The author masterfully portrays characters that are forced to do things they never would have imagined being capable of doing. A crisis can bring out the best and worst of humanity, and this novel shows us both.”

Includes a new Afterword by David Mitchell
A postmodern visionary and one of the leading voices in twenty-first-century fiction, David Mitchell combines flat-out adventure, a Nabokovian love of puzzles, a keen eye for character, and a taste for mind-bending, philosophical and scientific speculation in the tradition of Umberto Eco, Haruki Murakami, and Philip K. Dick. The result is brilliantly original fiction as profound as it is playful. In this groundbreaking novel, an influential favorite among a new generation of writers, Mitchell explores with daring artistry fundamental questions of reality and identity.
Cloud Atlas begins in 1850 with Adam Ewing, an American notary voyaging from the Chatham Isles to his home in California. Along the way, Ewing is befriended by a physician, Dr. Goose, who begins to treat him for a rare species of brain parasite. . . . Abruptly, the action jumps to Belgium in 1931, where Robert Frobisher, a disinherited bisexual composer, contrives his way into the household of an infirm maestro who has a beguiling wife and a nubile daughter. . . . From there we jump to the West Coast in the 1970s and a troubled reporter named Luisa Rey, who stumbles upon a web of corporate greed and murder that threatens to claim her life. . . . And onward, with dazzling virtuosity, to an inglorious present-day England; to a Korean superstate of the near future where neocapitalism has run amok; and, finally, to a postapocalyptic Iron Age Hawaii in the last days of history.
But the story doesn’t end even there. The narrative then boomerangs back through centuries and space, returning by the same route, in reverse, to its starting point. Along the way, Mitchell reveals how his disparate characters connect, how their fates intertwine, and how their souls drift across time like clouds across the sky.
As wild as a videogame, as mysterious as a Zen koan, Cloud Atlas is an unforgettable tour de force that, like its incomparable author, has transcended its cult classic status to become a worldwide phenomenon.
Praise for Cloud Atlas
“[David] Mitchell is, clearly, a genius. He writes as though at the helm of some perpetual dream machine, can evidently do anything, and his ambition is written in magma across this novel’s every page.”—The New York Times Book Review
“One of those how-the-holy-hell-did-he-do-it? modern classics that no doubt is—and should be—read by any student of contemporary literature.”—Dave Eggers
“Wildly entertaining . . . a head rush, both action-packed and chillingly ruminative.”—People
“The novel as series of nested dolls or Chinese boxes, a puzzle-book, and yet—not just dazzling, amusing, or clever but heartbreaking and passionate, too. I’ve never read anything quite like it, and I’m grateful to have lived, for a while, in all its many worlds.”—Michael Chabon
“Cloud Atlas ought to make [Mitchell] famous on both sides of the Atlantic as a writer whose fearlessness is matched by his talent.”—The Washington Post Book World
Live real. Play real. Just try not to die for real.
Riff Jenkins is having a bad day. He's behind on his college tuition and is getting kicked out of his dorm. His girlfriend just broke up with him for playing computer games too much. And if that isn't bad enough, Riff hasn't been able to beat the goblin boss in Dungeon Crawl Quest despite months of trying. His brother Mack says it's a glitch-that DCQ is unbeatable-but Riff knows there's a way.
When a mysterious package arrives from the recently deceased DCQ developer, Riff finally gets his reward for being one of the game's top players: a special Grimoire and an invitation to one of LA's premiere gaming dens.
But the Grimoire is much more than it appears. When Riff syncs it to a computer at the den, he's virtually transported into the game. And his bad day just got worse, because the company that owns DCQ will be shutting down the servers at midnight if Riff and his band of misfit players can't beat the goblin boss and save the game.
Oh yeah, and if the servers go down while they're in the game, they all die for real.
“The book contains a number of stat panels, including shop inventories, character sheets, and one creative aspect of a LitRPG story I hadn’t seen before: Rumor boards. The art throughout the book is really good too.” T. Harned – MMOHuts
“The main character gets sucked into a game and must do the most in order to get out alive. There is fun banter between the main character and the zany party of adventurers, with my favorites being the mack-like thief, the kick-butt heroine, and the drunk-old ninja. I appreciated the use of the word Gigglegibber (See EverQuest 2) and references to competitive eSports Team Kaliber and Atari E.T. cartridges. This book is a fun ride from front to back. If you like DnD, Choose Your Own Adventure, or dungeon crawl gaming you will like this." J. Palmer – Fantastic Science Fantasy Adventures
“The real world section establishes the main character’s personality, the reason why he is sent to the game, and sense of urgency to beat the game boss. By the 12% mark, the MC is in the game. Action, Trapped in Game, Die in Game Die in Real Life. R. Mejia – LitRPG Podcast

The violent drug-related murders of two prominent attorneys have the homicide division of the Chicago Police Department scrambling for answers, but without clues, a motive, or a suspect, not even the FBI can track down the killer.
With the media demanding an arrest and at their wits’ end, the Chicago Police Department makes an urgent call to the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office in hopes of bringing in Kate Pierce, a psychic detective, on the case. A reluctant Kate agrees only when word comes that Jesse McCord, a new friend and top-notch Chicago homicide detective, has gone missing.
Partnered with Detective Henry Johnson of Chicago’s homicide division, Kate goes on the hunt for the killer, armed with clues from her revealing dreams—and her dogged determination. As they inch closer to locating Jesse and learning the identity of the suspect, they realize the killer may be much closer than they think.
Editorial Review:
“Psychic detective Kate Pierce works for a small-town Wisconsin sheriff’s department but gets called on by the big city when the Chicago Police Department finds itself at an impasse in a case involving two dead attorneys and a missing cop. Though Kate believes in the value of her work, she confronts not only a killer but also the good-old-boy network when her mostly male colleagues in Chicago ridicule her psychic abilities. This fresh, intriguing new heroine was a supporting player in some of Sutter’s previous novels and gets her well-deserved turn in the spotlight in this terrific new crime thriller series.” Angela M., Line Editor, Red Adept Editing

A captivating new suspense novel from Amazon best-selling author D.L. Wood. Some games weren't meant to be played.
The lights are bright in New York City, but after losing her husband three years ago, all Evie Diaz can see is her mission to keep life rock-steady for her young daughter - including holding on to their little Queens apartment, the beloved nanny, and her night manager position at a luxury Manhattan hotel. It isn't easy, and stroke after stroke of bad luck threatens to undo it all. Her one reprieve from reality is liaising with a high-stakes poker game held at the hotel, where she hobnobs with movie stars and millionaires and can, for just a few minutes, escape. It doesn't hurt that player Kieran Carr, a handsome, confident art dealer, seems to like flirting with Evie as much as he likes playing poker.
But that all ends when trouble erupts at the game, evidence points to Evie as the culprit, and the betrayed host goes after her with a vengeance. Warned by Carr just in time, Evie runs, aided by the quietly protective hotel driver who secretly also harbors feelings for her. With the host on their heels threatening everyone Evie loves, they scramble to unravel the plot and clear Evie's name before she pays the ultimate price for a game she never intended to play.

They have been judged. The verdict – guilty. The sentence – death.
Two beautiful young women are found strangled, their bodies meticulously washed and groomed. The only thing they have in common – both worked as reporters for local TV stations.

Rookie Special Agent Shannon Ames is assigned to the case and soon impresses with her brilliant intuition and startling ability to think outside the box.
But as Shannon takes a more prominent role in the investigation, she finds herself drawn into a deadly dance with a master of deception, a serial killer whose victims all work in media – journalists, influencers, reporters.
Shannon’s superiors are convinced it’s part of some grand attack on the free press, but she has a hunch these killings are much more targeted. And she follows that hunch - straight into the heart of darkness…
Into Darkness is a gripping mystery thriller that will keep you up all night as it races towards its shocking conclusion. Perfect for fans of David Baldacci, Robert Dugoni and Lisa Regan.

Unfortunately for humanity, I’m that hero.

Forgotten Gods is a fast paced adventure series with a novel take on the Urban Fantasy genre. Vampires, werewolves, and all manner of monstrous creatures serve the unknown powers of old, but the story centers on the humans who make the heroic choice to fight them.
You won’t forget, Forgotten Gods.
Get ready to enter the dark, disturbing waters of a dystopian sci-fi world in this widely-praised, mind-bending trip to An Other Place... where time and space are fluid... where the moon changes colour and savage beasts run wild... where teeth are used as currency and love-making is a perilous proposition... where cannibalism occasionally comes into fashion and the dead are swiftly forgotten... where strange sandmen offer sanctuary in times of danger and a mysterious Alchemist rules over all.
When Newman Riplan’s flight into the unknown turns into a nightmarish slide between worlds, he must explore an unnamed city where unpredictable terrors are the norm. By the end of his first day adrift, his life has spun completely out of his control, but the most mind-twisting and soul-crushing revelations are only beginning. As he desperately searches for meaning and a way out, he starts to realise that perhaps only madness can provide him with the answers, while surrender might offer him his only true hope of escape...
“This is, by far, the best book of 2016, possibly the best book of this decade... the bastard love child of Kafka and Rod Serling, throwing in a dash of Ray Bradbury for good measure. 5/5 -- brilliant. Just brilliant.” Kelly Smith Reviews.
"An Other Place sees an imaginative writer at the top of his craft. It brings to mind The Twilight Zone, yet even Rod Serling himself would have struggled to come up with an alternate world so completely off-the-wall and yet oddly meaningful as Dash has here. 9/10 stars." Starburst.
“Darren Dash has opened a new artery of terror... unlike any book I have ever read... hints of The Twilight Zone, Pines, and Station Eleven.” The Literary Connoisseur.
"Its luckless hero moves from ghastly scenarios to even ghastlier scenarios with such horrid reliability that his story reads like extreme black comedy. 4/5 stars." SFX.
"Lewis Carroll, L. Frank Baum, and Brett Easton Ellis may have written some weird stuff, but An Other Place tops all of it, both in terms of re-readability and overall scope." Dread Central.
“This book really did blow my mind... each page turn was both chilling and thrilling in equal measure... the conclusion left me with goosebumps. 5/5!” Rachel Hobbs, author.
"Dash’s surreal tale has its share of unsettling moments. There’s also an abundance of intriguing peculiarities. An often baffling tale, but its protagonist’s wry commentary is undeniably entertaining." Kirkus -- a Recommended Read.
"An Other Place is a deliciously quirky novel that is surreal and powerful in equal measure. This is by far Dash’s best work to date. It is challenging and absurd, artistically brave and politically conscious, but this abstract painting of a novel is one thing above all else… completely original." Books, Films & Random Lunacy.
“This story had me hooked from the get go... an ending that sent my mind into a spin. 5 stars.” Reviews And Randomness.
“This book is utterly unique... I was amazed at how well Dash could create this baffling world from scratch and draw me into it so completely. 5 stars.” A Place In Which Jessie Writes.
"If Jonathan Swift wrote horror, he might have written An Other Place. Powerful, imaginative, and occasionally disturbing, An Other Place will linger in the reader’s mind long after the last page is turned." Safie Maken Finlay, author.
A killer is loose in an upscale Sacramento neighborhood. He murdered Sarah Wagner's wealthy young Aunt Caro, but the closed-minded detective working the case has already decided either Sarah or her cousin Laura committed the crime. He just doesn't know which. Both cousins, strong women, are beneficiaries of Caro's will and neither have alibis for the night Caro was killed.
To save herself and her cousin, Sarah has no choice. She has to put aside her mind-numbing grief for her beloved aunt and focus on unraveling the mystery of Caro's death. She's a smart woman, but this will take a depth of courage she's not sure she possesses because the killer may be coming after her and every move Sarah makes seems to increase the odds that one of the people she loves is the killer.
