Definition of the "Science Fiction Genre": The focus of this subgenre of fiction is science and technology, especially as they will possibly exist in a future time. Some of the typical aspects of a Science Fiction ebook are time travel, future worlds with technology that may not even be contemplated at this point, aliens and other life forms, and travelling in space. What separates the Science Fiction subgenre from the Fantasy subgenre of fiction is that the imagined or invented elements of a Science Fiction novel typically have more of a probability of existing. They are based upon scientific principles, not principles of magic.
Some examples of bestselling ebooks in the Science Fiction genre are Frank Herbert (Dune), Isaac Asimov (Foundation), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game) and George Orwell (1984).

Disowned from both families and shut off from the Otherworld by a powerful spell that closed the veil, she’s been on her own for over three centuries and has evaded both hunters and gods. Claiming he’s also a lost god, Thomas at least offers companionship, but when he pulls a former hunter into their midst and insists they may be able to reopen the veil to the Otherworld, Ayla finds herself falling deeper into worlds of intrigue, conspiracies, and magic. And she’ll have to decide if returning home is worth the cost of losing the only thing that’s kept her running from the war for so long: her soul.

Quote from the back cover:
Alexa counted her shallow breaths. “Roble, what...what is it you need?”
He pulled his arrowhead out from his shirt and rubbed it. “I don’t need to hear how scary the world is and how I shouldn’t try anything. I don’t need to know how much suffering there is out there,” he pointed out the window, “or how bad I should feel about it. What I need…” he looked up, his grey eyes pleading, “…is to see someone who is still happy after growing up.”
Lowering his head, he added, “I need to see living, Ms. Patra, because I actually want to live.”

Quote from inside:
The East China Sea glistened like an endless glass sheet. The F-22 Raptor Super Kai flashed just above its surface, ripping twin aerated water plumes into the air.
A grey destroyer sat broadside in the water just ahead. Roble hurtled toward its bow without slowing.
Crossing above the ship, the jet's sonic shockwave rocked sailors to the deck as if Roble's soul had exploded through their bodies. Sea spray from the wake doused the ship's hull like an exclamation point.
