Forged in the Fires of Heaven

Forged in the Fires of Heaven

by Timothy W. Long

Invaders from another world abduct a squad of United States Marines; that was their first mistake.

With UFO sightings and hundreds of "abductions" leading every major news cycle, skeptical Rolling Stone reporter Jim Thomas is dispatched to a military base near Palm Springs for what he believes will be nothing more than a close encounter of the mundane kind. Thrown in with a recon squad of fresh faced Marines led by stony faced Mitch "Manners" Manero, he joins them on a patrol, under the guise of a training mission in the Mojave Desert to seek out a possible sighting.

But when actual extraterrestrial ships arrive and begin turning military vehicles into slag, the conspiracy theories become all too real. Now, stranded on an alien spaceship with a squad of trigger-happy Marines, and popular news anchor Grace Allen, Jim and his companions will have to learn how to survive at any cost.

Will they all become experiments for the alien oppressors, or will they learn how to use the other worldly technology at their hands and in the process become forged in the fires of heaven?
